Take a look at our bird harnesses to give greater freedom to your special bird. your pet bird will probably spend a lot of time in it. Choose very carefully to ensure your birds physical and psychological well being.

You should always buy the largest bird cage you can afford that is suitable for the bird. Your bird needs to be able to fully extend both wings and be able to turn around comfortably inside the cage.

Bar spacing is also important. Birds should never be able to put their heads through the bars of their cage, in case they get stuck.

As a guide we recommend the following minimum cage sizes:

  • Cockatiels, small parakeets, small conures, lovebirds: 46x46x60cms
  • Large conures, large parakeets, medium-sized parrots, mini macaws: 50x50x60cms
  • Small cockatoos, Eclectus African greys, amazons: 60x50x60cms
  • Large cockatoos, amazons and macaws: 152x92x152cms

Note these are minimum sizes for comfort and well being.
