Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao)

Scarlet macaws prefer to spend time with the immediate family rather than large groups. If they are allowed daily freedom from their bird cages and played with regularly, they will be gentle in maturity.

Their diet should consist of a good parrot mix and Kaytee pellets, walnuts, brazil nuts, peanuts and fruit & vegetables.
