Roseate Cockatoo (Eolophus roseicapillus)The Roseate Cockatoo grows to about 14 inches in length. Like most Cockatoos they are very friendly birds that need a lot of love and attention. The feathers are very soft like down which makes them fun to pet. The Roseate Cockatoo can learn to talk, as can most cockatoos and are easy to teach all kinds of tricks.They can be quite loud screechers. This behaviour can be reduced with proper surroundings and attention. They love to climb and play, so provide lots of toys. Feed them a good parrot mix and Kaytee pellets, nuts, fruits, as well as the same nutritional foods humans eat. The Roseate Cockatoo should be fed less oil in their diet (which comes from sunflower seeds and other oily seeds) than other cockatoos since they can develop fatty tumors known as lipomas.
