They are one of the quieter birds only screeching loudly when alarmed. The Red Bellied Parrot is reserved at first, but quick to become confiding. They are intelligent, and love to play, so be sure to provide plenty of toys. They are best kept outside a bird cage either full time, or most of the time. They should not be kept with birds their own size or smaller, since they have been known to attack or sometimes kill smaller birds. They make a good first companion bird Their diet should consist of a good parrot mix and Kaytee pellets, as well as various fruit and vegetables (esp. grape, fig, peach, apple, etc.) and greens (chickweed, dandelion, etc.) Find out if we have any Red Bellied Parrot available now.
